A Daesh official was captured in a helicopter raid in northern Syria by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), a press release mentioned Monday.
“Abu Halil al-Fad’ani, an ISIS Syria Operational and Facilitation official, was captured through the raid. Al-Fad’ani was assessed to have relationships all through the ISIS community within the area,” the U.S. Central Command mentioned in a press release.
The official was captured on Saturday, the assertion mentioned.
The seize of Daesh officers like al-Fad’ani will increase the U.S.’s potential to search out and take away terrorists from the battlefield, mentioned Lt. Col. Troy Garlock, CENTCOM spokesperson.
“USCENTCOM stays dedicated to the enduring defeat of ISIS,” he added.
No civilians have been killed or wounded through the operation, the assertion mentioned.
